It began in 2002 with food oils with an average of 7 tons per month. The product is transformed at a biofuel transformation plant which belongs to the town council. In restaurants a collection of intact glass bottles is made: “we sell the beer bottles in Angola and the wine ones in Spain and France. Two people and an electric car work the collection circuit of the restaurants”.
The implementation of the CSR system works by the collection of “rolhões” (large cork stoppers) within a network of 24 eco-points in streets and 47 restaurants. Within the borough itself inhabitants can bring cork stoppers in bags.
